Mobile Services

The mobile veterinary clinic offers the following services and benefits:

  • Routine examinations
  • Vaccinations
  • Preventative Health Care
  • Lab Work/Diagnostics (samples are collected in the mobile; analysis are performed at the stationary hospital)
  • Euthanasia and burial services (including private, at-home euthanasia)
  • Basic surgical procedures (e.g. spay/neuter) - available ONLY to residents of Sheet Harbour due to the long travel distance to obtain veterinary care.
  • Retailing of select Medi*Cal Dog and Cat Veterinary Diets
  • And select flea control and deworming products
  • Convenience
  • Longer doctor contact time/appointments

House calls are available by appointment and are perfect for:

  • Pets that don't travel well
  • House-bound owners
  • Multiple pet households
  • Less stress for you, less stress for you pets!

Limitations: In spite of the many services that the mobile veterinary clinic provides, there are some limitations.

  • We are not equipped to provide long term or extensive hospitalization, major surgical procedures or radiographs.  Patients that require care beyond the capability of the mobile veterinary clinic will be brought to the main Complete Care facility in Lake Echo to receive more extensive care and can be transported back to the client when the vehicle returns to their community.

  • Although we are mobile clinic, we are not an emergency ambulatory service. We may not be able to accommodate all immediate emergencies.  We try to see clients on an appointment basis and will see emergencies as present time, schedule and location allow.

  • Our mobile veterinary fees are the same as they are at our stationary hospital, which closely parallel those suggested by the Nova Scotia Veterinary Medical Association.  (Note: house call appointments incur an additional housecall fee per visit in addition to the examination/consultation per animal).  Payment is due at time of service and we gladly accept cash, debit, Visa, Mastercard and American Express.
